The noises I get with videolan are not there when I play the file with Windows Media Player, but WMP doesn't display non-square pixels correctly. I just removed WMP 9 because it constantly crashed my Windows 98SE. Between programs that nag you to register or upgrade and hijack your settings (Real and Quicktime), others that crash or fail to work correctly, I'll suffer the videolan noises. I did report my problem to the videolan bug database.
